Lucian threw himself to the side as the creature tried to use its massive maw to chew him into pieces. The size of the jaw making it near impossible for the creature to stop, caused him to take a throat full of dirt and gargle it for just a moment.
Still trying to get his footing Lucian was not able to capitalize against the strike. Instead he watched as the giant simply threw the sands across the field in a feined gargle of anger and wrath that caused the entire area to be swimming in dirt.
The nobleman saw the next strike coming and so jumped above the spiked tail. The creature roaring in anger as Lucian simply got around its attack that would have struck him firmly in the chest.
Lucian charged forward with memories of swordsmanship classes within his head. It was the closest thing he had for this battle, for he was simply a master at the polearm at the end of days. Here, where the weapon he held was no longer a weapon in his respect was more than enough to rob him of most of his ability.
Yet he fought on.
The creature ignored his attacks and brought its claws against him. Lucian paid witnessed to this quickly and just as quickly avoided the strike. Those claws were the sharpest that he had seen, a set of talons that would rend his unprotected flesh apart if he were to allow it to.
In this cloud of sand and dust Lucian witnessed it there, the eye of the monster staring at him with immense hatred. As if revelation slammed into his mind Lucian threw himself towards the mighty maw that was opening up. Seeing this Lucian struck its wide open eye with his stick, causing blood to fly everywhere.
No armor to protect him, Lucian’s flesh felt the immense pain of corrosion as the blood landed on his skin. It did not stop his strike as the Knight drove the tip of his stick into the unprotected eyes of the creature and drove it like a stake deep into its socket.
The creature gave a mighty cry as pain wrecked its senses. Lucian could feel his mind shutter at the sheer chaos that the monster held rattled his brain. All the dust was suddenly blown away as the dismal wings of the creature began to flutter towards the air.
And like some dreadful creature of the damned, it flew into the sky. A body way too large for those wings to carry it, the creature yet lifted off the ground and into the air in a haphazard manner that betrayed all common sense of reality.
Lucian watched this as he placed his weight on the bloodied stick. He gripped his right side where a large sum of blood from the monster landed on his skin, the pain digging into his flesh all the more apparent.
