“Fight you? No, this is a test.” you reply, allowing your aura to blaze up to maximum and blast the armored being back a dozen or so feet from the sudden pressure as your power peaks at one hundred percent. “If you can't move me from this spot, you're not worth my time. If you can move me, I'll LISTEN to the rest of what you have to say. Else, you leave me and my village alone.”
“Arrogant whelp. I shall show you your place.” the armored warrior says, releasing the sword and grabbing the hammer in both hands. It then rushes forward, putting the entire force of a humanoid body's design into the swing. The heavy-seeming weapon slams into your chest, striking with a force you hadn't quite expected. Yet you'd braced yourself fully for the attack as if your old man was trying to send you flying, to which this being didn't compare. It isn't even in YOUR weight class, power-wise, much less your dad's. Which clearly surprises the armored being. “What?”
“Was that REALLY your best?” you ask after sighing out in disappointment, shaking your head. But then, suddenly, you receive a telepathic message from Megumin!
“Chi! I, umm, well...” she starts, you sensing her sudden nervousness through the mental link. “I-I think my water just broke!”
“I'll be right there!” you think back immediately, turning from the armored form back towards your house.
“We are not do-” the armored figure says, reaching out and grabbing you by the arm. Without hesitation you whirl back on the armored warrior, grabbing it by the face.
“Get the FUCK out of my home!” you roar, throwing him away from you with every ounce of your Ascended might. Within a few seconds the being vanishes, being pitched so far away to the north that you can't even see him anymore. Once he's gone from sight, you immediately turn back to your wife and blast off down towards her. In less than thirty seconds you're back inside by her side, your wife holding the baby inside her and wincing in pain. “Megu!”
“It-It's happening.” she says, opening one watery eye and looking at you. “It's time. Our daughter's coming.”
You freeze in place at this, unable to process what's happening for several seconds. Then your brain resumes working, and you know exactly who to call.
“Dad, it's happening. It's time.” you think to your dad, trying your best to remain calm. “Megumin's water broke, it...it's really happening! I'm gonna be a dad!”
