For now, the trip is to head back into the Village proper, and peruse the merchant's quarters, in search of goods that will be useful from here onwards, to you at least. Of course, with just how many things this Village offered, and the sheer amount of storefronts you could see, it might take a while, viewing them by the inventory set out on display alone, totally ignoring the signage.
While you were doing this, sticking around the same quarter, you asked Reisen if it wouldn't be too much trouble for her to find out about the price of buying or renting a dictionary textbook from this Suzunaan you heard about. You figured that since dictionaries have historically existed for thousands of years, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to look up one. The Rabbit obliges you, promising to meet back in the next 30 minutes or so in the merchant quarter.
You go on browsing several stores then. In terms of what foods you could find...
1 pound of Chestnuts - ¥3030
Japanese chestnuts. They were big, and looked like they had something tasty inside. You bet you could crack them using a rock or something.
1 pound of Daikon - ¥1870
These things were dry foods, and easy to carry. They looked sort of a like an anorexic radish.
1 pound of Dry Beans - ¥2590
Beans. The merchant selling them tells you they work to great effect at exorcising Oni. Whatever that means.
1 pound of Strawberries - ¥1440
Now there's a familiar sight! Strawberries! You loved it when your grandma used to make Strawberry cakes at a young age!
2 pounds of Kombu - ¥2880
Dried seaweed confections... not exactly what you had in mind as carry along food, but if it works as trail mix for these Villagers... eh...
Sake - ¥6900
Hmm. Been a while since you've had anything to drink. And you mean drink drink too, and you've never tried Sake before. It is kind of tempting.
