In the village of Jeshüvah, the moon is worshiped as a source of comfort and care. Each month, during the height of its brilliance, a festival is had in the village to venerate the moon--plenty of drink, food, and fun is to be had during this period.
It is during this period that your party of traveling merchants has stumbled into Jeshüvah, coming in from the east, where the empire of Valum lies. A civil war rages in that empire, and despite its great wealth, your party has emerged broke and worse for wear. Your beasts of burden have been stolen, your goods have folded into the black market, and the only things that have managed to survive the onslaught against your livelihoods is the one thing that can’t be hocked to the highest bidder—your wits.
There has been talk of disbanding, since all of the capital from previous adventures has crumbled into dust. But when you hear talk of peace in the west, your party decides to travel outside the bounds of the empire before splitting up.
The party consists of:
-James, the bookkeeper (high INT)
-Mason, the fence (high CHA)
-Fredrick, the bodyguard (high STR)
-Daniel, the scout (moderately high STR and INT)
Tired and hungry, these four have descended onto the town of Jeshüvah at a most opportune time—either for merriment, or for mischief. The choice is yours!
