He moves deeper into the chamber. Your attention is on the equipment, eager to get a glimpse of whatever this 'Squid' is cooking up. This partition is made for heavy equipment and multi-use .apps. You spot minting software, junk refinement tools, and a crucible filled with simulated liquid. There's too much to keep track of. The blocky Digimon struggles to climb a set of steps leading up to the source of the grinding noises, and you perform a quick scan while he's struggling.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">TOYAGUMON- ROOKIE- PUPPET- VACCINE</span></span>
By now, you've worked out what the color of the text means. The Digivice has it marked as a neutral party, same as Kaus Gammamon. As long as you don't see red, the subject of your scan isn't holding hostile intent just yet. This little guy looks harmless, even! You watch as he fails to clamber up for the sixth time, and looks at Kaus Gammamon pleadingly. The dragon-man just stands there.
<span class="mu-b"><span class="mu-s">"Hello?"</span></span>
<span class="mu-b"><span class="mu-s">"Hello, ToyAgumon. I believe we have already exchanged greetings this evening."</span></span>
ToyAgumon stomps his foot in frustration. It's such a strange scene that it stirs Phascomon into action. He holds his hand out in a moment of uncharacteristic generosity, and pulls the Digimon up to the top. You hear a voice squeal as your partner enters the doorframe.
"You're so cute! Oh! Who's this now? Come over here!"
Phascomon backs away, one foot slipping off the step. He stares upwards at the human closing in, with her hands outstretched to nab him. You feel an instant sense of defensiveness, and clamber up the stairs to repel her. The girl's Digimon partner reaches her first, pushing her back with his plastic claws and saving Phascomon from a dreary fate of being fawned over by oil-soaked hands. You get a good look at the eccentric Code Cracker.
The girl is dressed in a researcher's coat and white-rimmed lab goggles, with a single conjoined lens. Splashes of color have tinged the white canvas of her outfit, where bits of aberrant code have mutilated the texture beyond repair. Her hair is a vibrant orange, falling over her shoulders and forming two large tufts that hang on either side of her head. Her bangs are straight-cut, ending slightly above her yellow eyes.
<span class="mu-s"><span class="mu-b">"Jeez, this is no way to treat a guest! At least say hello first!"</span></span> Her partner cries as he obstructs her path.
"Hi! I'm Squid! You must be the Phascomon Wind has been going crazy about! Come here! Pretty please? Your ears are adorable!"
<span class="mu-s">"Marnie, help me! This freak has crazy eyes!"</span>
You reach the top of the flight, positioning yourself between Squid and Phascomon. You hold a hand out to shake, trying to jar her back to her senses with a dose of human interaction.
"That's my partner you're grabbing at. I'm Marnie, nice to meet you."
She's quite a bit taller than you, but when she looks into your lilac eyes, she quickly shrinks back and babbles.
