I do find it funny that at the end of the day, TalOS still ended up being Horus biggest and worst headache. In between the way he stacked board of loyalist forces prior to the Heresy, ensuring that Horus had to divert more troops and efforts away form the main thrust to Terra, turning Perturabo against him, shielding Ultramar from the worst of Lorgar and Angron, and even preventing the Fall of Mars.
All the while TalOS himself hasn't even done him the service of facing him or his brothers in combat, let alone showing his face at all. He even got another primarch command his forces, perhaps the BEST primarch to command them in his stead, let alone that the Federation is as effective as Guilliman and Alpharius' organization without their Primarch.
He can't even ask his demon friends to predict where the fuck he is because of his separation from the warp and being a Null and he hasn't taken the bait of being lured back to the Federation. All the while we fill in the place of Vulkan's death by fighting the Webway War which also ruins Chaos attempts to attack Terra from within.
It will be hilarious if at the end of the war we never face him and he never got a chance to send a demon primarch at us. We were just a massive roadbloack from behind the machinations of our forces, which is exactly what was planned and incredibly satisfying.
In his own way, TalOS displayed that he wouldn't make a half bad Warmaster either. In the least, he proved himself to be The Imperial Quartermaster.
