>>5303942>While you’ve just met the three…circus performers for the first time, they seem friendly enough. More importantly, they’re knowledgeable on the surrounding area. Something you and your “big sister” desperately lack. >“Sure. I think that would be a great idea.”“Perfect!” Milly exclaims cheerfully. “Oh, I just love travelling through the woods. You never know who you’re going to meet!” She stops to take you and Corrine in for a brief moment. “Let’s get you both cleaned up though. You look as if you just crawled out of a Demonic Beast’s stomach.”
“Crawled through the other side of it would perhaps be more accurate.” Says Corrine.
Theo snorts. “You may be tough, but no one’s that tough. There’s no way the two of you took down a Demonic Beast by yourselves!”
You shrug, finding hardly any benefit to arguing the man’s point, and accept their generosity. You follow them a few feet away to find a colorfully painted stagecoach, with two horses tied to the front. You offer to let Beathan help pull the coach.
“Appreciate the offer but…I don’t know if the locals would take kindly to seeing a black pegasus. Hell, I consider myself more well-traveled than most, and even I’m a bit unnerved by it. What was the Goddess thinking giving these beasts red eyes?” Caleb says.
“Nonsense!” Milly exclaims. “I think he’s adorable! The folks back at Charon will love him. We could probably even charge a few gold pieces a head for folks to come brush his mane! I’m sensing a fortune to be made here!”
>“Uhh, perhaps not? Beathan tends to get a bit shy around strangers.” You make up an excuse. You and Corrine join Milly on top of the stagecoach, as the two men handle the reins. Despite the woman’s best efforts at scrubbing off the Demonic Beast’s blood, it’s safe to say that both your uniforms are completely ruined. As a courtesy, she at least parts with two cloaks for the two of you, so that you won’t stand out as much once you reach Charon.
“When we arrive to Charon, you may wish to inform the Margrave about what’s going on at Garreg Mach.” Caleb calls out. “House Charon and the Church have always been on good terms. I’d imagine he’d want to know the fate that’s befallen the monastery.”
“House Charon?” You turn to Corrine. “I thought you had said this was Galatea territory?”
The girl shrugs. “I also said geography isn’t my strong suit.”
