From the looks that Ana and Prowler were giving the Iron Man knock-off, you felt that they agreed with you. But, the Morlocks looked like they had other things on their mind. W was a bit lost in the conversation, Iara was too busy nursing her wounds, and Glass was still a bit fixated on the collateral damage that had been caused to the Mirage Hotel. He was most likely wondering if innocent people had gotten hurt for the sake of her grand schemes.
You eyed the metal man curiously from across the room.
<span class="mu-r">“If you’re looking for new employment, I can say that you were a huge help in bringing back the converter. I’m sure that she’d be willing to reimburse you.”</span>
He shook his head in response.
<span class="mu-r">“I’m not looking for a new boss,</span> <span class="mu-s">but I’m not in the market for making lifelong enemies either.</span> <span class="mu-b">So long as you can get her off my back, that’ll be good enough for me.”</span>
So they weren’t interested in betting on the winning horse. Either they were scared of being taken advantage of, or they genuinely had no intention of getting involved in the criminal underworld of Vegas. That made things a lot less complicated for you, though. Less people to split the reward with.
<span class="mu-g">“So you help us get the converter, we help you get out of here, and you just fly off into the sunset?”</span>
He nodded to Prowler and gave him a thumbs up.
<span class="mu-r">“Pretty much. I don’t care what you</span> <span class="mu-s">do after we’re all out of here.</span> <span class="mu-b">I’ve got some plans of my own.”</span>
You weren’t sure if you could trust this guy, but they didn’t seem immediately hostile, even with that armor and all those weapons at their disposal. You haven’t experimented with your newfound powers enough to know whether you can burn hot enough to melt that armor into slag. So for the time being, you’d keep an eye on them and use them to take out the rest of these overgrown pests.
