The word begins as a muttering, and then a chant, and then the great hall erupts with the hollering acclamation of several hundred of the hardiest warriors in the known world. Acclaiming you. As the roar continues, the Norsikaan officer you recognise as Gunnar Golden steps forward and speaks to you at length, he and Baldur Farsight are both a shared visage of grim stoniness.
<span class="mu-i">“The Norsikaan officer says that you are a named man now, recognised among their number and with a right to visit their hall at will.”</span> The slave translator has managed to conceal most of their fascinated horror at this barbarian display of mortal violence over apparently nothing material, but cannot entirely disguise the cautious trepidation with which they now address you. <span class="mu-i">“He also says that typically a named one does not select their own name, but as you are a southerner they will give you an exception.”</span>
Gunnar Golden looks at the fallen Einar Witchbane, still kneeling where he died as the dark-haired Halfdan Ravenmark closes his eyes shut forever with a mournful expression. He says something else, his expression impossible to read.
