There's no doubt about it - you're gonna swim across it! Like hell would you pass up the opportunity for a good workout like that. That being said, it does seem awfully cold, and you don't really want to have wet clothes if Yunzabit Heights are going to be even colder, so you and Barbar proactively strip down to just your undergarments, bundling them up tightly and using some cord to tie the bundles to the top of your heads. It looks silly, sure, but it won't be so silly when you're nice and dry!
You stride into the waters from the beach, clenching your jaw to stop your teeth from clattering at the sheer cold that the icy brine seeps into you. Fighting off the feeling, you wade further in, until finally you're forced to swim. One arm after the other, legs kicking rapidly, you start to steadily ramp up your speed on your way to the mountainous island. Looking behind you, Barbar seems to be doing just fine - if a bit slower than you due to his general dislike of all things cold - while Harum actually seems to have taken a different approach. The monkey man is hopping over the very surface of the sea, clearly using a mixture of air-step and good old-fashioned raw speed to his advantage. Damn, why didn't you think of that?
While you're considering how hard it would be to lift yourself out of the water to copy Harum, you hear a sudden shout of surprise from Barbar. He's now stopped in place and seeming to grab at something wrapped around him - something thick and black that almost resembles a tree root seems to have hoisted him momentarily out of the water. Before whatever that is can do much, Harum points two fingers at the limb, shouting out "Flash Lightning!" to make a familiar bolt of electricity shoot towards it in an instant.
To your surprise, rather than going into Barbar because of all the water around, all of the electricity actually goes directly into the mysterious beast through its appendage, lighting up its form in the dark and churning waters - it appears to be a rather massive octopus, though you'd never actually seen one before. The beast seems to go limp, its grip on Barbar slackening, and the older warrior takes the chance to grab it and drag it with him the rest of the way.
