The very least thing the Emperor and Malcador can do is not begrudge us if we choose survival as our main imperative. We can fight the Long War if we survive. Not even the loss of the Astronomican will destroy the Federation, for the Void Dragon knows other ways to guide through the Warp.
In between the Lucian Tech and Necron Teleport tech we are the master teleporter. Maybe we can make the excuse that if we stay on the Imperial Palace in the throne room, we can stop the Dark Gods from interfering with their jump onto the Vengeful Spirit. Someone had to stay behind on Terra to defend, and that was Khan who is dead. We could replace him.
I hope as a C'tan Shard we have what amounts to Necron Reanimation Protocols. The one where if we sustain serious damage, we are teleported elsewhere to repair (probably the Noctis Labrynth).
