"Well, I was raised in C-District. It's actually really nice up there! Sure, it's not like it was hard for me to pay their fees." Lily flashes her smile. So many damn teeth, almost an anomaly in itself. "It was always fun playing with other kids! Seeing who could chew out more of the other!"
"As long as you respect the rules of N-District, you will have a grand and pious life." Uriel clasps his hands together. "I don't recall seeing a lot of kids. Perhaps a handful, mostly at school?"
"Hm? Why's that?" You ask. "I would think having a lot of kids would be the norm for some reason."
"In the other districts, sure. N-District just didn't get a lot of births. It was a bit lonely growing up but I had to make due. For the Father's presence was more than enough." He bows his head while muttering something to himself.
"U-uh, P-District isn't too bad a place to be a kid in? I think? Money was real tight, though." Celanine fiddles with her cybernetic arm. "I dunno how it is in the other districts but I had to do a lot of odd jobs to make ends meet. I think Felix did some mall cop stuff? Me and Jack had to construct stuff for Facilities for a bit."
Huh! "Huh, I only thought Bill and those two ETFs were good at repairs. Though to be fair, they're the ones who show it off the most."
"Y-yeah, tell me about it." Celanine nervously laughs. "He has to fix my arm a lot and Presley...does a lot of stupid shit trying to look cool. He tries to avoid being watched by the cameras when he does it."
"Q-COMPANY WAS A GOOD MOTHER. BY THE TIME I WAS TWO MONTHS, I WAS WORKING AS A PROPER Q-COMPANY EMPLOYEE." Q2 bluntly states. Despite how loud he's talking, he's not really "yelling". It's a flat, monotone with a steady volume. "Q-DISTRICT IS THE BEST TO RAISE A KID. BY THE TIME YOUR CHILD IS FIVE YEARS, HE OR SHE WILL BE ABLE TO WORK AS AN EFFICIENT AND HAPPY WORKER."
[DYING LIGHT] What the fuck? You know Drones are all business, all formal, but it can't be that far. Can it?
[BOUND BY DUTY] Who's to say? Your frame of reference is admittedly limited.
"R-right. But your childhoods were mostly good, that aside?"
"As good as it can be, yeah!" Lily's smile is now a lot less toothy. "It's not that bad. As long as you're willing to make ends meet, well, that's that!" She shrugs. "No point crying over spilled meat. Never got those weird Gravediggers. Why waste it?"
"And I'm glad I stopped you from eating more of Art's meals. You're already weird as is." This gets a few laughs (and a hyper active "YIP!"). "Next thing I would've known, you would've eaten the D-Class before he was done with them."
"Pffft! Fuck you." Lily joins in on the laughter. "Those meals were fucking good, man. I hope that new human chef can make 'em." Hm, you do plan on talking to him tomorrow. You gotta know more about him.
"Hey, Q2? Can you forward something to Q and Monifa later?" The drone instantly snaps his attention towards you. "MESSAGE IS?"
