I reached into my mind then, and retrieved the Ankh of Pride. I beheld the clump of lukewarm information in my hand as I pondered upon it...
When a god dies, if a god dies, the concept they embody must be governed by their existence, and so human belief will eventually give birth to a new incarnation of a god whose sphere is this concept. Granted, I did not know what Ela embodied in life. But going off what I heard from Eskart, the god's true name was Ela-re. He was "the bringer of dawn". I suppose he may have embodied the dawn itself, a solar phase in the system of day and night.
Given he is not truly dead, only a shambling corpse... if he were destroyed, a new dawn god would one day have to rise to take his place. But perhaps if I got his corpse... I could use his lost pride to restore the Ela-re that lived.
I would have to kill the current one, a corruption made by HEUS' hand. Put him out of his misery. His godform would be able to supplicate this pride to restore the dawn god. It would be the same god, but not the same god at the same time. It is like reincarnating him... but not in a new incarnation, in a duplication.
(Defeat boss [Ela, the Dusk Bringer] in the Jigoku layer of the Afterseas to restore Ela-re, therefor gaining a new party member.)
