Last time you used this weapon, it was against the Demon in Akzeriuth. That Demonic Beast was of a much larger, bulkier and harder stock than the ones you’ve seen Kronya and Solon employ. Your lance, which burned a large hole in the Demon, manages to blow a large chunk of this lesser creature’s head clean off with a single thrust. Gore burns brightly on the spear’s tip, burning intensely.

The beast lets out a pained roar and turns to face you, just in time for Kate to descend with her own attack. Though she lacks the same effective weapon that you possess, she accurately hits the wound you left behind, deepening it.

The creature turns again, this time to face Kate. You’ve fought these abominations enough to know that while they possess fearsome might, they retain little of the intelligence that they possessed when they were human. With its back to you, you follow up with another attack, this time burning through its right side with your holy spear.

Predictably, the creature turns towards you again, in a rage. Opening its mouth, you brace yourself for the usual flame attack, when instead, a purple miasma flows freely from its mouth. You’re unable to get out of the way in time, and while your resistances towards magic are high, you still suffer some harm.
