>>5179021>>5179023>>5179024>>5179043Before properly pondering on what path to take, you notice a big moth flying skyward. The way she's so close to your face makes her seem very big, almost human-sized. You're not a fan of the noise flying insects make, so you brush it aside with a swipe of your hand.
It is then you realize that the moth isn't a small creature hovering over your nose, but a giant female apostle flying over the moon, before falling to the cliffside.
Approaching her body, you see the young body of a bug-girl, the inside of her legs bleeding as a cut split her womb open up to her stomach. It seems even the young children can be manipulated into sacrificing their loved ones for the Behelit. It's a sad sight to see, really.
The path to the left is confirmed to have apostles then, The Black Swordsman must have already passed by this place. It might be the long route and full of mist, but it's still a lead for you, and you will take it.
Thankfully, the mist seems to clear itself as you approach the valley, the vision growing clearer as the ways to escape the forest appears to be pretty straight forward, even showing you a place to ressuply inside another village in the midst of your path. At least you won't be starving by the time you reach Albion, being in the middle of nowhere means that the food is pretty cheap too.

Now that you're sure you're close to your target, you try not to waste more than a few days resting at the local inn before travelling once more, only waiting for the sky to clear up further. Whatever seemed to be endangering this place seems to have already died, with Guts likely being the one that killed the butterfly child.
On your final day, you try to ask around for some people to see if they've heard of a Black Swordsman somewhere around the area.
"Don't you dare say that name in this house, get out!"
"That monster! He's the one that will bring us into the new age of Darkness!"
"It's the end of times, the apocalypse! What kind of monster would kill so many children in the forest if not for the black swordsman?!
Guts? Killing children? Is this the same calm guy you've met 3 years prior to talk about your past? You thought he had a good head on his shoulders and even gave him some life advice before parting ways. What the hell happened for him to start acting like this...?
"Guts? I have met him before, yes..." A young child by the name of Jill is the last person you ask, being the most useful of the bunch as she pinpoints the exact direction he departed in, but refusing to say anything else. You don't have time to sit down and smell the flowers with her, any minute reading her mind would be time wasted when he could be dying right this instant. You nearly trample the girl after she finishes her sentence as you whip Gunpowder into a full sprint.
