The Knight had to work fast, his hands gripping one of the tenders and flipping them over. He found himself surprised as another pair of hands were helping him lift the damned thing over. It was the Captain, the man bleeding down the head as he had taken injuries from the fight.
“What are you doing!?” Lucian shouted as they lifted, flipping over the boat, “Go with your crew!”
The man looked Lucian straight in the eyes as he spoke, words that he realized was the foundation of himself as a person, “A Captain is the last one off this damned ship!”
Lucian had not time to argue, instead rushing towards the battle Bok was having with the monster. With the Vampire temporarily put down the sea monster had focused its efforts towards the Kroxigor. While the Kroxigor was a giant it was nothing in comparison to the might that was the monster.
Lucian was quick, slamming his weapon into the offending limb. The first time since he received this weapon did he make contact with the flesh, and the entire limb was severed in a thunder’s roar of force.
“Bok!?” Lucian towards the giant hoping that it knew what he was saying, “There! Take a boat!”
Whatever was between those eyes was enough for it to understand that it was supposed to go there. The giant running at speeds Lucian did not think was possible for its kind. His eyes glancing, it was clear to the sea monster that it had not expected someone to so easily injure it in one swift strike.
By the time Lucian noticed all this and was moving the tender had been moved to the edge where the storming waters matched with the tender as the vessel sank even more. In it was already Nightshade, the warhorse untroubled by the happenings that were going on around it. Bok was loading himself into the vessel as the Captain waved his hands to the Knight.
“Get in you fool! Get into the tender!” He shouted at Lucian.
The Knight felt the weight of his lost blood, how tired he was, as he crossed the dock. He could already see both the sea monster and the vampire both rising as they knew this was the moment they were going to murder everyone.
Standing at the boat Lucian began to say, “You should-!”
He did not get a chance as the Captain grabbed his shoulder and, as Lucian had lost all his strength, easily tossed the Knight into the outrigger. With a mighty push the Captain sent them into the storming waters.
The last thing Lucian saw was a wave of sea slamming into him.
