Phascomon stares at her warily, looking out for any signs that she's going to snatch him up again. Fortunately, she's too engrossed with you. Squid puts the drill away once she finishes loading up all the data.
"So, those bombs~ Did you get to see any blow? Up close?"
"Not the actual explosion, but we saw the partition explode from a nearby roof. It was big."
"YES! I knew I packed enough inside! You have no clue how long it took to cook it up! I had to siphon so much from the sewers, in so many different areas!"
<span class="mu-b"><span class="mu-s">"I'm glad most of it was in the VM room too... It must smell awful outside now. I'm not leaving this base till it fades!"</span></span>
You look at one of the screens. A news report is showing live coverage of the manmade datastream, which is still ejecting its contents into the sky. Fortunately, it's aerosolized, and doesn't rain down onto the populace. The Digimon around it look unstable in flight, and you notice that Brigadramon's silhouette is no longer visible.
"They're going to be looking for us now. How likely is it that they'll find us?"
"Not very. The Jamming team were on duty right until the explosion, so all the collected data they got on us was trapped inside when it blew. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if its already been ejected from the partition! They'll be cleaning it up and recycling it without knowing."
You nod, relieved to hear that. The aftermath is just as risky as your actual mission, and even though you've survived, you know that there's a non-zero chance that vengeance will descend from the sky sometime.
"Was anyone hurt?"
"Not directly... But some cars got banged up in crashes. Still, there's nothing about the whole setup that's meant to cause data corruption in people! So they'll get up right as rain."
Good enough, then. Even being trapped inside the partition wouldn't have been a death sentence for you, it would have just been an agonizing torment until the servitors dug you out and arrested you. Digimon, on the other hand, might have been hurt by the sheer mass of data. You recall seeing those guards get deleted by the explosion.
But there's no point worrying about every cascading effect. You knew what you were getting into when you accepted the mission to bomb a vital data center.
