taking operational advice from a spider what's become of my life ahem
This is the Luperni Library. My plan is quite simple:
We're going to walk right up to the docking area for visitors, ask for a visitor's badge and take our sweet time gently exploring the facility. You see, this is also a library and so distant scholars are welcome to arrive to share knowledge, loan or deliver materials and participate in the debates.
And 9 months of being shipbound has allowed my knitting skills to be put to good use. I have disguises for all of you. If Note and Log have done their work, we'll even be on the schedule as a visiting delegation of Free college students and scholars.
Okay, nine months delayed roundtrip, but still.
We're here for the Records of the Atlas Improbable. Now, the problem is that the Luperni record system is not standardised. We don't know where they store it. So we'll have to find out. Once we know WHERE it is, we'll have to GET IT.
Along the way, given that this is a library, we can make small withdrawals and loans from the stacks as you see fit.

It seems our spider-friend has marked three areas of interest. One is a newly arrived shipment of goods, one is the biological material section and one is the faculty vessel. I assume Cuddles, like me, have no desire to face a Luperni Instructor in actual combat. You may all think you're good, quick and fast - and you are - but these are the people who train the people who commit dire deeds. Let's avoid fighting them if we can. We may need to ask them some questions though.
Now, remember, this entire facility floats off of the coast of the Greenspan Belt, so it's actually Pytherii Deep Territory. That means it's under guard and ward by the Pytherii Legion. They have a very small presence - it's likely a manned post in the Warded Stores - of a full Decani. Nine Legios and a Field Theurge. I assume this is a bit of a prestige posting, so it's likely it'll be decorated Legios and an Eaglesoul leading the lot.
That's the bad news.
The good news is that politics means that the House Luperni, inside the Pytherii political sphere, must maintain only as much of a houseguard as Honour allows. So, we're mainly facing scholars, students, researchers, botanists, chefs and material engineers. But there should be almost no slice dogs, biters, mongrels, twist-tails, scardogs or - Void our luck - Hound Knights. And since our NINE MONTHS roundabout, I bet whatever guards have been here on garrison have drunk themselves silly and asked for new postings.
The sliiiiightlyyy worse news is that that doesn't mean the Luperni won't call them in if thing catch fire the screams get loud. There's a few Luperni trade stations within signal reach, so who knows what might show up.
