The Dwarf that he was facing had readied his axe, his face taunt with a beastial roar as he came at Lucian once again with a killer’s stroke. It was beyond fast, and the axe made Lucian think of Orkish axes that were able to make dents in the armor of Bretonnian Knights. He quickly threw himself to the right, dodging the Dwarf Ghost as fast as he could.
The Dwarf’s blow came close to the stone, but stopped just inches away from the masonry as the Ghost kept its hand steady.
Realizations truck as he took a second to understand the words of the Dwarf.
“S-stop!” Lucian said as he called out to the Hero of Old, “We are not here to rob your graves! We are Scouts from Karak Ziflin! Hold back your hand!”
“Karak Ziflin? Your Necromancers are getting a little full in the head if you think that would stop me.” The Dwarf said as he prepared his weapon.
“He speaks the truth, Ancestor!” Adok hallord as he held out his hammer before him, “I am Adok Fireskin, Son of Runelord Lornir and grandson of Runelord Adokir of Karak A Karak!
The Ghost stopped in his preparations for attack. His eyes focused squarely upon Adok as the Runesmith stared daggers at his foe. The hammer that was within the hands of the Dwarf glowed slightly as the Runesmith prepared to smite one of the Dwarfen Ancestors.
“Clan Fireskin?” The Dwarf said as he changed the grip of his axe so that his hands were closer to the axe’s head. The ghostly muscles of the creature tensing as if the body the ghost was inhabiting was something far closer to flesh than anything the foul magics of Nagash could create, “I know that name you speak, and Adokir? He was just a lad from what I heard.”
“Aye, I am his son’s son. Do you think a Runesmith of Karak A Karak would stoop himself to serving a Necromancer!” Adok challenged the Ghost as he pressed for whatever advantage he had.
“A Runesmith of Karak A Karak would not be acting as a Scout!” The Ghost said as he pointed an accusing finger at Adok, “I have heard the happenings of the world from the Underearth. Karak A Karak still stands mighty over the Dwarfen Realms with High King Alrikfsson Grudgebearer.”
