>>5179743Only the Custodes and Magnus were able to see the look of recognition and shock on the emperors face before he quickly returned to normal as if making a mental note for later or if he was trying to contact the being from sheer surprise-
"He and I created these fabricators and great 3d printers that were able to reduce the entire amount of these on the planet, making it more beautiful and natural. The main scourge of the planet, the Ganth and Drukhari, had to be taken care of, so we took the fight to them. Stealing one of their star boats, and laying ambush for their fleet with help from friends and fellow freedom fighters we were able to find out some of their plans. But the goal has always to keep De'lormosa what it is and what it should be. A place for my people, for humanity. It isn't quite perfect, but we are trying to make it a better place every day. Right now as I speak with you that Old Man I told you about is makin us a fleet of starships utilizing the wreckage, making my home a better place. I mean, there isn't much land, but what there is, from the black volcano, to the pristine reefs, to the shining shoals, to the emerald islands- the land is beautiful and worth fighting for. I guess that's what ya doin right now tho. Fightin for where ya from, to make it better."

The man in armor looked about. Stunned as he looked about at the world around him.
"You actually did it. You preserved some of it. You kept it alive. If just a little bit."
"I did. For a minute, I thought I was the only one that remembered."
"You weren't."
"Thank you for remembering a crochety old scientist, old friend."
"Thank you for teaching Kolinaisi."
"Thank his old man that one. I merely guided him on this path."
"Humble as always I see."
And with that they were gone. The Old Man smiled.
And with a single tear that dropped from his eye and as it struck the sand, black turned to a brilliant gold.
