The Emperor of Mankind looked upon the Omnissiah, the one who was his son, with a measure of thought. Behind the eyes of the Emperor were thousands of years worth of experience but all of them were useful except one of the earliest events in his life.
There he witnessed a plan painted upon a wall. It was a plan to capture a beast from a herd to help feed the tribe that he was born to. He had told people that he was Neoth, but in truth such a name was still a lie. Neoth was simply a demonstration to the world and the gods that he was old. In truth, his original name did not matter, for he had far since outstripped it.
The man who painted the plan upon the wall washed his hand with paint and placed it upon the wall. In doing so he had placed his hands upon the universe. The Shaman’s plan would succeed and thus they would all be fed.
The Emperor had internalized this concept for all his life. Such was the reason that he took the mantle of Emperor, for by doing so the Emperor’s hands were placed upon the fabric of reality.
As the Emperor heard those words he spoke did not wish to speak but it was his nature in situations like this, “I declared that there are ‘No Gods’. This fact was given to the entire Universe and I shaped with my hands a Universe to deny them. Why did I fail?”
The Emperor had always liked TalOS, if a great bit annoyed that such a promising son took the path of a Cult. He had shown a side of himself, something that was not the Warrior-King, to him for he knew that TalOS was not fighting in the Crusade for Glory. While he fought for his god, he ultimately served humanity.
Him becoming the Omnissiah was indeed a great anger to the Emperor. That his faith went so far that TalOS lost his humanity to become what was the Prophet of a God. Yet as the Emperor looked upon the Omnissiah he could not strike it down for what it was, for it was still TalOS.
He still loved his son.
Now he simply wanted to know where he went wrong. If there was some misunderstanding that the Emperor had about the universe that the being TalOS had became a ‘divine’ being that was part of its fabric.
Maybe, just maybe, if the Emperor had a chance he would fashion a new plan with his handprint.
“As I, the Omnissiah, see it.” TalOS spoke to his father with what was a human voice, “You did not mold the Universe to your will but simply molded your view to fit the Universe.”
