The combined firepower of the Krieg soldiers began to take its toll. The xenos staggered, its roars turning to pained howls.
Blinded by blood and crazed by pain, it bats out with its stump of an arm, catching a Krieg in the chest and sending him flying into a wall where he laid there, stunned and wheezing.
With one final, concentrated volley, the lasfire found its mark, piercing the creature's remaining eye and severing its spinal cord.
The monster collapsed to the ground with a thunderous crash, its body twitching before finally lying still. The room fell silent, save for the ragged breathing of the surviving Krieg soldiers. They had done it. The beast was dead.
K-3331 pulled out his entrenching tool and gave the beast several good whacks on the head, purple blood coating the shovels sharpened edge. Better safe than sorry.
