The next morning at dawn, Wilhelm rose with the others. As he began to pack his saddle, Shalina approached him. "You are not leaving, are you, Wilhelm?" the maiden asked him.
"I have heard that there is a wizard somewhere in the depths of the pathless forest," Wilhelm said to her. "I must see if I can find him right away, before any more time passes.
When Shalina heard this, she protested. "But you only arrived here yesterday!" Shalina took his arm. "I thought we might visit the rest of Redgate today," said the maiden.
"I must return to the keep of the House of the Wolf by sundown," Wilhelm said to her. "I swore that I would do so."
Shalina nodded, for she had learned that Wilhelm sought to always honor his word.
