“I don’t suppose you’d be willing to teach me and Spider-Girl ASL after this is all over?” you said, trying your best to make your voice heard over the whipping winds and the hum of the transport’s engines. “I’d really like to learn how to communicate with my sidekick.”
Spider-Woman stared at you for a long moment before returning her gaze forward. “Sure. Yeah, okay. I can do that.” she reasoned. “But if it’s all the same to you, I’d rather we have our lessons down there. Coming to pick you up every single time sounds pretty annoying.”
“Fair enough.” you nodded. “And hey, thanks for doing this. I know it can’t be easy to try and work around someone like Hill.” you added.
She shrugged and leaned back a bit. Her grip on the shuttle was tenuous at best. It was as if she didn’t particularly mind if she fell off or not. “Don’t worry about it. This is as much of a favor for you as it is for Bobbi and Hill.” she said, before pausing to snicker at her phrasing. “Hill doesn’t need anything else on her plate. She’s stressed out enough as is.”
You wondered if they’d feel the same way if they learned what you were really about. Then again, you knew that S.H.I.E.L.D. had a history of employing criminals. Black Widow was an international criminal before she went legit. Now…she’s probably an international criminal again, on account of her going full Jason Bourne and dropping off the grid.
And S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents were allowed to use lethal force when necessary. It wasn’t your methods that caused problems, but your motives. You just haven’t gotten big enough to draw their attention. At least, you thought you hadn’t. It seemed like Hill wanted to know everything about you for some reason. That’s what made coming back here so damn stressful. If she ever caught up to you one of these days, you’re not sure if you’d be able to sweet talk your way out of that conversation.
The rest of the trip passed with you and Spider-Woman making idle chit-chat. Eventually, she gave you her number for those promised ASL lessons, and to your surprise, it was a number for an actual cellphone instead of one of those weird S.H.I.E.L.D. communicators.
>”Jess”/Spider-Woman has been added to your contacts!
She even gave you part of her name? For a high ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, she sure was laid-back. Even more so than Cho, in some ways.

After you’d arrived, you, Jess and Cindy made it a point to creep inside the Helicarrier without drawing too much attention. That, however, proved to be fairly difficult when you were wearing flashy costumes and riding atop a military transport instead of inside of it.
