Demons, even these dull-witted hounds of the hellish realms, relish in mortal suffering. The two have been playing with their food.
The brooding-caverns were specially-chosen to be accessible by only one entrance, so that Glowie could be safely guarded from both physical threats AND unauthorized disclosure during her metamorphosis and the laying of her eggs. Her true nature, and ESPECIALLY the paternity of her spawn, remains a closely-guarded secret, of which only the Novice Fleshweaver is aware. However, this security comes at a price: she has no alternate means of escape, nor do you have any secondary way to reach her.
Thus, when the hellhounds spy you, they do not immediately attack. They hold their ground. Your course is clear—they know where you are going, and they know you have to go through them to get there. Their faintly-canid forms twist and contort in ways that give lie to any corporeal normality, swelling and stretch, their faces spread out into vertically-split grins as they spit infernal invective at you.
What will you do?
