>>5203805Yup that's the one. It's partly why I have an experiment I would like to propose
>>5203795>Try to increase the Null presence of a Pariah.>Work further to make some further gains in general nullification technology.I do not know if this is the time or we have the resources for it, but I would like to perform an experiment if we can. Our psi-scanners are flatlining to zero, but there are likely deeper negative values. Values that repulse the very fabric of the warp. The true Omega Negative power.
Can we achieve it and what are the ramifications?
OOC: In the Pariah Nexus book, the raw anti-warp power of the specialized Necron pylons was able to create the namesake Nexus effect. This results in two important things:
-The Warp itself is repelled in a localized area. This actually results in a loss of Gellar field, but rather than the ship being destroyed by demons, a flood of demons is seen fleeing, trying to escape the horrific anti-warp area. Like a tide of damned ghosts. And of course, ships are forced out of the warp because the warp ceases to be.
-Soul Death: strong effects result in, what can best be described as, a suppressing of the "will to live". Breathing becomes a manual chore, depression and nihilism set in, appetite is surpressed. In prolonged exposure weak mortal souls can sometimes be suppressed or repulsed so far resulting in soul death, where the body loses its conscious self and simply breathes. the only way to keep them alive is to force feed them
I propose we find some criminals or people who are doomed for servitorization, and try to ramp up the negative warp effect until we achieve a similar localized effect in a controlled space. I also have a theory that Soul Death might have some practical upshot. Pariahs having negligible soul presence are not affected, so Vera would be untouched. Stronger souls like those of Acillians and ourselves, while still unpleasant, are resistant to death. And most of all:
-Can a body that has experienced soul death be turned into a functional servitor, thus we can have armed forces in areas of extreme negative warp presence?
-Could skitarii or sufficiently augmented brains be made more resistant to soul death by having computer programs provide digital encouragement to the faithful. For example, sending in impulses that encourage the user to comply to it duty, becoming not like a listless body but a driven machine. The Skitarii then is able to rely on this impulse encouragement and also the benefit of morale (or lack of) that it is being given computerized orders directly to the brain, as if from the Omnissiah itself, and does not need to rely on self motivation or emotions. They already use emotional controls to begin with. Courage, hope, etc is no longer part of the equation. Only obedience. Because Skitarii tend have cybernetic lungs, nutrient dispensation, and mechanical hearts they do not suffer from the effects on the body
