"Alright, no. We do NOT walk into a trap just because we know it's a trap. That wouldn't end well..."
"Are you certain? I wouldn't try this if I was alone, of course."
"What would you do if you were alone, then?"
"...walk through these tunnels until I find them, then kill them."
That's going to take too long. So... hmm.
"Here's an idea. I could go in first, they can't curse me. You just block off the place we came from, and if things get dicey, you can enter to help out."
"That sounds like walking into the trap." The Grey Knight says and...
Yeah, it kind of is.
Walking around like this is going to be trouble, however. You don't have a way of marking your path, as these tunnels are mostly made up of living wood. Any carvings are likely to disappear in less than an hour. You think for a time, and...
Can't think of anything.
"Just... I don't know. There has to something that can guide us, yes? Or... Something like tha-"
You stop talking when you suddenly see a bright light appear next to you, which makes the Grey Knight appear on edge as well... Until you see what it is.
It's... the head of a kobolt? It's not only glowing, but it looks as though it's underwater, constantly shimmering and distorting ever so slightly... Upon closer inspection, it's less that it looks as if it's underwater, but more like it IS water.
It seems to just be floating there, and it's looking at you expectantly. You stare back at it, and somehow... you have the distinct feeling that it's both a part of you, and not a part of you.
"...Hello." You say to it, and smiles. The creature's tongue lolls out to the side, and the Grey Knight frowns.
"...A Guiding Wisp. A basic spell... but without a ritual? You did not tell me you were an archmage." The Grey Knight says. Though you can sense the suspicion from here. Well...
You answer truthfully:
"To be entirely honest with you? I didn't know I could do that."
The Grey Knight sighs.
"Hm. Dragons are master wizards, I suppose... If you were ever to lose control, rest assured I will kill you. Let's make use of this."
Alright then.
"So, uh... Wisp?" You say, and it nods at you. "Can you take us to the Wulven directly?"
It nods again, and zooms away, deeper into the tunnels... and stopping at an intersection, waiting for you in one of the ways to go.
...Do you trust the wisp?
>It might be a trap from those wulven, trying to... make you think you have magic. Don't trust it.
>Alright then. You'll deal with the fact you can do this now as you walk
>Yeah, okay, no, head into the trap, it's way preferable to dealing with this.
