>>6017277You were never much of a morning person. The sheer scale of the challenge that is not only waking you up but coaxing you into a lucid state - that's a running joke in your squad.
What better way to get the blood flowing than to tank a laughing, magical tornado? You eat natural disasters for breakfast.
The cyclone howls about you. A smaller, lesser creature would be swept off their feet, but not you. The ferocious headwinds inconvenience your bulk, balance-wise, but aside from that -
Maybe you thought you were hearing things, before. Maybe you thought that you'd imagined that the storm was laughing at you, projecting some cosmic bemusement onto a faceless feature of the purple planet's atmospheric processes. But no, it's laughing. It cackles with a feral whoop, the sound intertwined with the storm's cyclical current. Bursts of wind strike at you, focused, intentional blows aimed as thoughtfully as punches.
That slows you down, might even give you pause - but it doesn't hurt. Your BODY attribute is the envy of the mortal world when it comes to absorbing blows. The storm's strange, gusty violence would, again, threaten someone less protected, but your high physical resistance renders you immune.
"Ehh?" The laughter gives way to confusion, then to anger. "Fat! Fat little thing!"
It's impossible to pinpoint the source of the voice. As far as you can see, it's just you and a wimpy alien tornado. A sentient one, given that its trajectory has come to a firm halt. The winds pulse with greater intensity, as if irked by your steely biological armor.
It's hard not to grin about it. Not a bad tradeoff for being unable to wear clothes.
You open your mouth to:
>Mock. Laugh back. Surely I'm not crazy for trying to get a rise out of barometric pressures.>Indulge. In all my time jetting about the universe, natural disasters with their own purposes and senses of humor are a novel concept - there's surely much to learn here.>Inquire. I'm off track. I have a mission to complete, a wrecked means of exfiltration and a missing squad, and this storm character doesn't strike me as particularly helpful.(Beddy-bye. Will check back in th'morn.)
