>>5373171A glance to Bernard is all it takes for him to know what you’re about to do, the blonde rising from his seat at the console.
“Watch the computer.” You tell the others. Valjean looks disappointed that he won’t be having an in on this fight, while Boleski and Julia dutifully fasten themselves to their seats. Everyone, however, is more than capable of holding the line if it comes to that, but there’s no way you and Bernard would let the goons even get close to that point.
“TWELVE PERCENT…” Is the last thing you hear before you fall into a sprint right back the way you came, and you’re back at the entrance in a matter of seconds, Bernard arriving in a single teleport.
Leaping atop one of the tall servers, the rapid pounding of your feet on metal as you bounce across the servers is about as subtle as a bull in a china shop. Unlike before when you were trying to get by with going undetected, now is the time for you to be loud (obnoxious even!), because now your goal is the exact opposite as before.
Now, you and Bernard are going to be the welcoming committee for some of FutureLabs’ finest foot-soldiers as you draw their attention onto you and away from the rest of your team back in the server mainframe.
Centering in on the first goon, you knock them down by bowling right into them, their body hitting the floor with a ‘whump.’ Their gun clatters to the ground before you leap right back into the air, allowing your proprioception to lead you to your next prey.
“What the?!” There’s a shout from one of the guards from not too far off. “That’s– that’s freaking Kelpie!” Well, now that they know it’s you here and not just any random mutant, they certainly won’t be playing around.
So focused on trying to land a hit on you, the goons hardly realize when Bernard teleports behind them to land a swift punch to the back of their heads, effectively knocking them out. Between knocking out goons yourself and jumping around like a rabbit on crack-cocaine, it soon becomes apparent that any and all bullets sent your way are only fired when you’re up above the servers.
‘Good!’ You think, a pleased, sharp-toothed grin spreading beneath your mask, because that means they value those servers more than your heads. You can definitely use that to your advantage!
