>Helen puffers her cheeks. She can convince people too, in case they didn't notice.
Suddenly startled, maybe because she didn't sleep, Helen turns around in a flicker. If those idiots get here they could ruin everything and steal her wish- but it's only Mr. Water Sprinkler spying on her. Grabbing Weird Eyes by the hand and Kyubey (by jumping a bit) by the ear, she rushes both of them behind the old lemon tree, just in case. There is not much room, but they will be safe here.
After peeking again (just one more time) from behind the ragged trunk full of scars, Helen tugs at Weird Eye's smooth hand twice like it was a bell, who bends the knee to barely be at height.
Helen: I won't leave you.
Gently, under the meager shadow of the lemons, Weird Eyes pushes Helen back to be face to face. She caresses the little girl's cheek with the back of her finger.
Weird Eyes: I've lived three of your lives, dear. People change. It's evil to expect them not to.
Helen cuts her off by shaking her head almost frantically.
