The Warp had encroached upon Terra for every inch of ground it could take. Everywhere there were temporal anomalies that were flowing about the place. Some of these were displacements. Things that should not be there yet were. Others were walking through a door and crossing several hundred miles in an instant. In truth it did not matter who it was that was defending or who was attacking, these effects were both horrendous and miracles.
The one thing that kept out the enemies of the Imperium, of Terra, was the Golden Throne. Without it rifts could easily have been made behind the Saturnine Gate and Chaos would have flowed into the Throne Chamber unimpeded. Such was the reason Malcador sat upon the throne, to prevent the throne from being lost and Terra being pulled into the Warp.
Before him was lines and lines of guns and masonary. The Imperial Fists and numerous detachments of auxiliary were present. When he walked out of the Saturnine Gates the eyes of those witness were both terrified and elated. It was, however, only those of the Mechanicus that bowed.
There were Knights and Titan, Skitarii and Automata. These were the refugees from Mars who had come to save Terra in its hour of need. Among them though the Omnissiah noticed so many others from different worlds. His senses expending beyond his body, he realized quickly that those defending Terra were not Terrans.
Vastroyans, [Add guard regiments]. There were members of the Cult such as from Metallica, Giria, and even Lucius. His mind easily seeing that each of them answered the call to save Terra, instead of traveling to try and rescue their home worlds. They knew, beyond all doubt, that if Terra was to fall their homes would fall in return.
They were the Imperium of Man. United in the cause of salvation against the damnation of Chaos.
“Primarch TalOS.” An Imperial Fist stood next to TalOS. He was covered in filth and appeared to have been fighting on the lines. The Omnissiah picked at the Motive Force and learned him to be Arcanus, the chosen son of Dorn, “I have been told that you will be taking control of the gate. What are our orders?”
>As Dorn said, kill them all
>Leave Lorgar to me
>Prepare for the worst
