The first ship to let its Choirs cry was the largest ship of them all. Its shields blew away the rocks that caused it to easily be mistaken as a simple asteroid. Several others began to turn on and maneuver themselves into open space away from what was admittedly a dangerous part of the system in the form of the asteroid belt.
There were seventy five of them in total. Seventy Five battle hardened cruisers navigated from what was a slightly dangerous area while the Capital Ship began to take stock of the situation.
Admiral Carne looked at what happened with a hint of satisfaction and anger, “They saw through the Ambush.”
“They have simply gotten lucky, Admiral. It was of course one of the paths they could have taken against us.” Answered a Scorch as he began running new calculations, “Luck is the only explanation for it was one of the least likely paths they would have taken.”
“Are you sure your predictions are not being clouded by the Orks, Proteas.” The Sloog Admiral asked as he quickly rotated to his companion, “They are obviously a more intelligent foe than the Orks.”
The Scorched stayed silent for a moment as the ridicule was seemingly founded. The creature however deflected, “I have confirmed they are making their way towards the Leston System. The Assigned Garrison and High Captain should buy enough time for us to arrive.”
The Sloog Admiral gave an aura of happiness as he heard those words, “Good, we will catch them in a pincer and be rid of such pests. They have already cost the Collective thousands in both lives and credits after all.”
“Something does trouble me, Admiral Carne.” The Scorch declared as he focused towards where the ships were, “Something was on that ship I never felt before. He is dull, but they have a Psyker upon the ships.”
“We will need to be wary of them then.” Answered the Admiral, “To all ships of the Extermination Fleet, make way towards Leston!”
And with those commands those ships too began to enter the warp leaving nothing but an isolated planet in their wake.
