He wandered the chambers for a little while, seeing a few of his brothers who had the misfortune of being in this chamber of the Imperial Palace. Unlike Ahriman all of his remaining brothers did not want to be this close to this dying brother. The reasoning was simple, that you can feel the flesh under their skins crawl and the warp around them contaminated with the Flesh-Change.
Ahriman knew that if his brothers could, they would run from Terra itself and to the other ends of the galaxy. An Astartes did not hold fear, but the logic of staying on the same planet as the Flesh Change was so irrational that they would gladly throw themselves a great distance from it. And such logic was warranted as Flesh Change afflicted others in groups at a time.
Ahriman remembered the time when his brother caught it. How he could feel the Flesh Change fly through the Warp from his blood brother to him. The Psyker was able to fight it off in the worst contest of strength that Ahriman ever had to endure.
He could not believe that such a fight was possibly won. A week’s paranoia came from Ahriman wondering if something wanted him to win or just to toy with him by taking the life of his brother.
He would never wish this upon his kin and he knew for a fact he will not survive another attack like that again.
He took another moment to look at the amulet which was wrapped around his neck. He knew this was not some arcane trinket for it did not present him any writings or sigils that protected him from the warp. As the Second Primarch TalOS DAV1S informed him it was completely anathema to it. To think that the Mechanicum would have something like this among their archives. He only wondered what they were working on creating at this very moment.
In his heart Ahriman realized there were kindlings of hope now warm within his bosom. Finally after so long there was a chance that victory could be gained. He only wished now he had called upon the Primarch sooner, but he had feared the wrath of Malcador and maybe even that of his own Primarch.
The Flesh Change taking Ohrmuzd was what changed that.
With purpose within his step Ahriman rushed down the chambers now. Excitement beating between his two hearts.
