The two of them walked for a few moments as TalOS allowed the mood between them to be subtle. Of course TalOS could not tell such things due to the presence of both the Blackstone Amulet sitting upon his chest and the Fortress but he learned through study.
TalOS took this chance to study his son. The man stood a little taller than his kin but as TalOS understood he shared this trait with his squad. TalOS would be the first to suggest that such a thing was because of gene variation within his geneseed. How could one expect the gene smiths on Terra and Mars to not tamper with a Primarch genome.
TalOS only hoped for a moment that he could study this son of his. Depending on the variation it might be something to promote among the other Astartes if they proved stable.
“Father.” The Astartes took his attention from such thoughts with a firmness one would expect of a superhuman, “What is the status of the War?”
“We are waiting.” He declared outright, “Arch Magos Dominus Sicarian, Prime Magos Dominus Pteraxii, and High Dominus Eretis are all organizing the war on the Fortress planet. We are to await until they reach the critical mass of Orks. At that moment, we will strike.”
“I understand. We will await your orders then.” The Astartes declared once again with that damned firmness he held earlier.
“That is good. Know that we will need to act as immediately as we can when the time comes.” TalOS informed the Astartes with a bubble of faith forming within him, “I am trusting my fellow Domini to succeed in holding back till the last second. When we arrive the tides will turn but we must be swift lest our actions are wasted and we find ourselves in a forever war just like the Mitu.”
“According to Seventh Legion doctrine?”
“That is correct. We will bring the enemy to us, and then force an encirclement.”
