Currently, the largest extant power in the Milky Way is the Bolar Federation. Controlling 35 percent of all star systems opposite of the Orion Arm, the Bolar Federation is built upon economical and industrial prowess, and that, combined with their expansionism serves as their point of pride. There is propaganda, authorized by the Prime Minister Bemlayze himself, that the Federation is a paradise of plenty, free from stifling authoritarianism and backwardness. In reality, the majority of the ctizens live on factory worlds, toiling day by day in the most horrific conditions known, for the benefit of the upper class, who lives clean , luxurious lives. All dissent is suppressed ruthlessly, even more so than many imperial rules, more overtly than Garmillas' Ministry of Propaganda, that prefers a more subtle approach of setting up false flags and using subliminal messaging. There is a recurring pattern within the Federation, of a cult worshipping an entity known only as "Queen Gardiana', the cult which is proscribed and is destroyed as soon as it is found, but somehow keeps reappearing, and on different worlds.
