“Abe told me about those ‘blockers’ that you use to ward off the killer robots. What can you tell me about them?”
Miles turned his attention away from Kraven and looked back at you, a small grin playing across his lips. “Ah, yes. It took me a while to figure out how to isolate the frequency. It would appear that you and Abel can resonate with this frequency on an almost psychic level.” he explained, his excitement clear in his expressions and body language. “The blocker emits a counter-frequency that clashes with the psychic frequency, which scrambles your senses a bit, but prevents anything from tracing it back to you.”
“And where is it?” you asked, glancing around the room.
“I’ve discreetly placed several of them around the campus. I can show them to you later if you’re interested.”
You nodded. “I’d like that.”
You were genuinely surprised by how agreeable Warren was. You expected a full-blown mad scientist with a fetish for leggy blondes. But he spoke of everything he did with the casual ease of a 40-something year old man that made ships in bottles in his free time. It was simultaneously unsettling and slightly comforting. While he seemed to show little to no remorse for his unethical actions, he was at least halfway decent when it came to reasonable conversation. And that would make the next part of this conversation a little easier.
“Say,” you began. “What exactly does the Chameleon bring to the table? You’re the one with the brains, and the Kravinoffs are the muscle. What’s he got that you don’t have already?”
Kraven raised an eyebrow at that. He didn’t seem offended at all by your inquiry. In fact, you felt as if he was patiently awaiting Miles’ answer as well.
Miles’ grin grew a bit weaker; more brittle at the edges. “The Chameleon provides valuable intel on the Oscorp spider experiments, and the genetic modification surgeries performed by Roxxon. Both of which are invaluable to my research here.” he explained.
What will you say?
>”I know a few people who are really good at breaking into places and gathering data. Let us do his job so that we can kick him to the curb.”>”If you ask me, I’d say that he’s taking advantage of your hospitality. He’s only using your lab as a hiding spot until he thinks it’s safe for him to leave again.”>”You shouldn’t trust him, Miles. The Chameleon only cares about himself. He’s probably only here so that he can steal your research once you’ve perfected the cloning process.”>”I will LITERALLY pay you to let me beat him up.”>Write-in.Pastebins:
