Your name is now Cheryl Elmore, and you are currently on the crime scene. The Killer has struck again.
The Killer is the nickname of Panopolis's own home-grown serial killer. Some other nicknames have included "the torturer" or "the shadow man", but these names were considered too dehumanizing, and only The Killer has stuck. Serial Killer still exist today, but their incidence rate has dropped to almost nothing. The same psychology profile and warning signs of psychopathy; torturing small animals, sociopathy, inability to express emotions, manipulation; are pretty well filtered and corrected in the early population of the city. Strong support networks and social services tend to fix these problems before they become a reality. Still, this one apparently slipped through the cracks. You also know this is the same man who killed your father; though none of the other Peace Keepers seem to believe you.
The Killer seemingly strikes at random. While much of his profile is similar to others; A middle aged man, implications of partialism, premeditation, and a below average level of intelligence; he is a bit unique in his choice of victims. Instead of mostly targeting women, his victims seem more random, but especially unique is his targeting of self-secured men. You think this could be hints of a homosexual nature, but this is only a theory. The way he preens over his victims, tying them down in a chair and torturing them before killing them? It just seems a little twisted. More then a normal serial killer anyway. Yes, you are motivated by revenge. The slumped over corpse of the mafia man beheld the same fate as your very own father.
You were always close to your Father. He was a very traditional manly man; but always supportive and always loving. You loved hearing his stories about "the good old days" he'd tell you; stories from his own grandfather. He supported you in everything you wanted to do; when you were first interested in art, then animals, and then when you began to move towards social work and even becoming a Peace-Keeping officer. Though as you became older and learned of your duties, you began to have disagreements. It wasn't serious, but you did disagree on one crucial thing. You thought all people were good deep down, and they just needed the right environment to bring it out. Your father would disagree; he told you that evil exists in man. "Evil is a construct of society", you'd tell him, which is something your job taught you. It was something you saw every day in the desperate and honor-based culture of the punks and social issues of Level 5. But now? You know your Dad was right after he was pointlessly and cruelly murdered. You know it's irrational, but you blame yourself in a small part. Sorry for not listening to you, Dad, maybe if I did, you'd still be here today...
