"I got a better idea."
Mantis grabbed the bow in Bees hands. She was befuddled. He was never this assertive before. But it was a minor enough thing that she did not mind too much. She gave a reluctant sigh, then let go of the weapon.
"Fine but you better not break it."
He took a single arrow from her quiver and pulled the string taut immediately.
"What are you aiming for?"
"Watch."
He held the bow ready without any effort. His arms and the arrow remained steady like stone as he waited for his prey to move. He had already spotted it but Bee hasn't. But once the beast moved she got nervous and started whispering.
"Are you crazy?! You can't kill a boar with an arrow!"
There were many animals that inhabited the area. The Scavenger Lands, where the Marukan Alliance sat was always called the second most fertile area of Creation. Much of a childs education involves being taught which animals make good neighbors, and which ones to avoid from the mundane to the monstrous. Out of the mundane boars are some of the worst. Unlike say wolves, who respectfully avoid men in favor of snatching some of the livestock on occasion, boars don't tolerate others in their territory. They can attack without provocation or reason, and they can grow to be quite big. This hog was sizeable but nothing out of the ordinary. The moment the scent of Mantis reached its nose the pig raised its head and looked in his direction. It started running at him without warning. There was something about the Infernal that made the beast want to kill him. Mantis only smirked. That made it an easier target.
His bow and arrow began radiating with ephemeral, liquid shadows. The arrow turned the purest black before he fired it off. Aside its color there was nothing out of the ordinary about it. The shot flew normally and made no strange sound. And it missed almost completely, barely grazing one of the boars legs. Bee was about to call him an idiot and run away but the pigs legs erupted with the same blackness that coated the arrow and it tripped. The animal continued to roll until it came to a stop right before their feet, dead. Mantis could only lick his lips. He knew the beast experienced horrible agony in the instant it died, what's more the energy he put into the shot on instinct returned to him completely, as if it was ripped directly out of the pigs soul in the explosion.

"Uh, is that safe to eat?"
Bee started poking to pigs leg to see if more of the black stuff would ooze out of it once she recovered from the shock. There was nothing but a few drops of blood where it got scratched.
"Who knows? Why? Are you chicken?"
He grinned maliciously as he gave the bow gack to her. He then grabbed his prey by the legs and began pulling it.
"Come on, let's cut it open and get roasting!"
