The planet was known as Pentacanaes, a modern world that served as a base for numerous operations that would ferry materials from Mars towards the far ends of the galaxy. Such a place was needed as the Warp Currents were still rough and time was needed out of the warp for recovery from both machine and crewman.
The planet was a green place thanks to its odd flora upon the planet. Airborn photosensitive planets that turned that bounced around the planet like floating balloons. These caused a lot of the normal radiation to hit humans to be blocked as they floated aimlessly through the air.
This allowed the humans on the planet to live semi longer lives. The only issue being that this planet was once infected with a series of megafauna that were all killed when the Emperor discovered the planet. Such was a price that no one can have a perfect planet lest it was crafted by man’s hands.
As indeed yes, the same plants that scattered the planet were ripe with easily combustible materials. Thus it was a luxury place where men could relax rather than a place for industry.
TalOS stood next to Malcador and a series of Custodian Guard as they all watched the screens from a vid-recorder on the planet. It was complete terror upon the planet as people were throwing flaming bottles of alcohol and stabbed their fellows with wicked knives. TalOS had a moment of horror as he saw a brutishly large man raise the skull of a murdered woman into the air.
As he did this, his entire cohort roared in approval at his actions.
“News that the world was lost to us occurred Eight days ago. We learned from several Astropaths, those of which that were upon the planet were lost.” Malcador informed the group as they looked upon the carnage, “It saddens me that we were this late, but as their first deployment we were within acceptable margins.”
TalOS ordered the vid screens to continue changing so that the Fabricator General could see all aspects of the fight, “I have yet to see this in the midst of happening. I have only seen the aftermath. It is just as horrible as I imagined, with the exception that these people were not willing to make sacrifices.”
Malcador stayed silent after TalOS spoke those words. Silence in both the respect of the dead and the brutality of the actions that were occuring underneath them.
