>>5310208With renewed fervor, Bernard takes the captives from the ship in groups of twos, threes, and fours, stopping only to let more captives grab onto him. Next goes Valjean, Matt, and Julia, followed by the loot you took from the club.
All that’s left is you and the boat, and, without really even thinking about it, you drive your fist into the nearest wall a good several times until water is downright gushing into the lounging room.
As you watch the opulent space fill up with water, you’re vaguely reminded of that one movie with the giant boat, the R.M.S. Gigantes. You definitely didn’t cry at the end of it, and, even if you did (which you definitely did not), no one was around to see it.
So, yeah, it definitely did not happen, nor did you used to cry when you heard that stupid flute song on the radio. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar!
“Kelpie,” Bernard snaps you out of your musings, voice devoid of the energy that was present only minutes ago. “What? Did you think I was gonna let you swim back home?” That’s what you assumed since you’re the one sinking it.
”Well, I like a midnight swim as much as the next guy, but I’m feelin’ kinda tapped out.”
With the water nearly up to his shoulders, you make to close the distance between the two of you, and, the second your hand touches his, the sinking ship is replaced by the familiar walls of the warehouse.
