Denied at every turn, spurned by society's stigma against thirdborn sons, and now forced to watch his siblings raise dragons of their own, the young man turns to even greater levels of isolation and despair. His siblings, so caught up in the wonder of raising their own dragons, do not even notice his pain.
Perhaps the one person who would listen to him is the naga, but he isn't allowed to go and see him due to the fervent belief that a thirdborn son shouldn't be alone with the snake lord as it would be a bad omen. The young man silently laments that if they are going to forever treat him this way, then he may as well remove himself from their presence.
And so, one day, the thirdborn son flees the civilization, and is barely noticed to be missing until a day later. By then he is already far on his way south, his feet carrying a wounded heart towards an unknown destination.
Little does he know that despite his thoughts and feelings of being alone and nobody noticing or hearing him, he is being drawn towards someone who has been watching him very closely. This person calls out to him in his dreams, whispering subtle things in his ears on the wind. He doesn't even know it, but he is being lured to a very specific location. The newly-discovered ruins outside of Taurica have been untouched, for people fear a dark energy rests within that place. The thirdborn son of the ruling dynasty follows the subconscious voice that has been calling him to this place, though he knows not why.
He makes his way into the ruins, slowly becoming aware that someone is calling out to him. He grows more and more conscious of the voice that cries out for his help, the wailing of a trapped woman that only he can save.
