>>6335202When Tristain and Saoirse were around, Uriyan had made sure to leave something of his skill to the imagination. But none of those monsters were here now. That meant he didn’t need to hold back. Uriyan watches as Rudolf continues marching forward, hidden beneath his shield even as his spear jutted out. Such a dull style of fighting these Fodlanders had! Uriyan charged in, raising his axe high, and swung down.
“Diamond Axe: Helm Splitter!”
Helswath meets Rudolf’s shield, carving right through it and into the knight’s chest. The man is planted into the ground like a turnip, the force of the blow shattering the glass of the nearby mirrors. It didn’t matter if he had a healer backing him up. All that meant was that Uriyan simply needed to finish both of them off in one blow.
“Shit!”
Uriyan ducks as Bernhard’s sword comes swinging at his head. The large blade collides with the now empty mirror stands, sending them flying through the room. As Uriyan comes back up, he lands an uppercut on Bernhard’s chin, sending the large man crashing to the ground, stunned. Before he can get up, the warlord is already on him. Bernhard’s eyes widen in fear as Uriyan swings Helswath down.
“Diamond Axe: Colossus!”
Another row of mirrors bursts into shards, leaving a trail of diamond dust hanging in the air. Grinning with battle fever, Uriyan turns towards Lucien, however, he finds that the priest is holding both hands up, dispassionately.
“I give up. You win.”
“You…give up…?” Uriyan mutters in disbelief. The fever fades as the warlord examines his work. The two knights were still alive. That wasn’t a surprise. Despite what he felt earlier, he’d still held his punches back a bit, as he didn’t see a reason to kill these two. Still, he’d be lying if he said he weren’t somewhat disappointed by how easily they’d been felled. And then there was the matter of this priest…
“Hey, heal them.” Uriyan commands Lucien. “But not too much. Just enough to ensure they’ll live.”
Lucien shrugs and does as he is told. He starts with Rudolf first. Once the man begins groaning, Uriyan takes the opportunity to swipe his badge, sending him back to the manse.
“Contestant Number 41, Uriyan, has defeated Contestant Number 22, Rudolf, on Floor 8.” Kosmas announces.
Around 15 minutes later, Lucien finishes up with Bernhard, and Uriyan repeats the same move.
“Contestant Number 41, Uriyan, has defeated Contestant Number 8, Bernhard, on Floor 8.” Kosmas announces once more.
“Good, an easy two badges.” Uriyan exclaims, tossing the items around in his hand. He examines Lucien closely. “Now then, the question is…what do I do with you?”
