“And how soon until the 501st gets there?”
Trykov has to squint at the map, cross-referencing his datapad bearing a transcript of the Republic cypher. “…two at the minimum, but no more than four. They were on Coruscant to resupply after an insurgency on Valkin when the order was given for them to redeploy to Kessel.”
Plenty of time, even with the distraction maneuvers. That gives you at least one day to settle in and search for any latecomers. With that squared away, all that’s left is the actual entry itself.
You recall all that you know about Kessel, and fill in the blanks with the aid of your computer. It is a misshapen planet, and the only place where glittersim spice is produced. Smugglers and bootleggers would make the Kessel Run through the Maw, evading Republic authorities by skirting along the collection of black holes.
Prisoners condemned to hard labor are often sent to Kessel, overseen by the Colicoids – an insectoid race that had sided with the Separatists during the Clone Wars. Whether or not the Colicoids remain as overseers is yet to be seen, but you highly doubt that the Empire would have let them continue.
But returning to Kessel, the atmosphere is thin. Most of the air is provided by factories on the surface that refine the minerals and glittersim webs for export to the wider galaxy. And, to your and Ceyla’s surprise, ancient tombs and ruins litter the landscape. Possibly of Sith origin.
Most of this information is largely ancillary and only good for trivia or a history paper. But as a Jedi Shadow, all of these are useful. All that’s left to do is put this information to use and create an executable plan.
>>While you have one day before you reach Kessel, you will be too occupied planning with your crew to do anything else.
>>How will you infiltrate Kessel?
>Break into the prison and instigate a riot, bogging the Empire in trying to restore order. [Chaos]
>Pretend to be smugglers on a last-ditch Kessel Run prior to the Empire’s arrival. [Deception]
>Silent and undisruptive, with nobody or any cameras even aware of your arrival or exit. [Stealth]
