Let us say that in a game there are two types of bullets, cheap and premium. The cheap bullets cost USD1 and the premium bullets cost USD10 per shot.
For the purposes of the game, they are functionally the same, damage, ballistics etc, the expensive bullets are maybe a bit shinier and nicer, come with better cosmetic branding and packaging, but mostly identical.
Now because of various reasons, the price of ammunition goes up by USD1 for both.
So the cheap bullets now cost USD2, the expensive premium bullets are now USD11.
Which bullets do you buy? (Give reasons)
>1/ Cheap bullets, USD2 per shot still pretty cheap, you can afford a lot more of them
>2/ Expensive bullets, USD11 per shot. They are so shiny! Shiny!
>3/ Expensive bullets, because cheap bullets went up by 100%, whilst the premium bullets went up by only 10%
>4/ Cheap bullets, because if they went up by 100%, they might go up even more. You could hoard and re-sell them. Become a post-apocalyptic ammunition merchant or Bullet Shaman. Something something convexity trade?
>5/ Another hidden reason...? State what you think that could be. (Do the prices matter?)
>6/ You want to steal all the ammunition and shoot the bullets back into the face of whoever invented this scenario
