>>6048593I had a concept for something similar, but being more supernatural and spooky/X-Files themed. I would set it as a traveling monster hunter or modern day Sorcerer ala Dresden but setting it in a totally fictionalized part of the United States called "the backstates", being like the backrooms but for dozens of huge, empty, forgotten flyover states in the USA's interior which are home to all manner of supernatural beings and small-town drama. You don't need an Iseaki plot for this and I think it would only weaken it.
