>>5537222“Such an extreme power-up can’t be gained without drawbacks or sacrificing something. So, there must be a catch to it.” You remarked, musing over the new information while deducing the hidden meaning.
Smiling at your astute wit, Aeos closes her eyes with satisfaction. “You are right. Utilizing this power recklessly can burn through one’s cells and the life force associated with them. Shorting their lifespan in a way that cannot be replenished without outside means. Using the power which grants life is not something that should be trifled with or used carelessly. The Triclops knew this well even with their bolstered vim and vigor. Once it is gone you can never truly get it back, outside of extreme circumstances. So, you must be careful when using this power. It might provide a euphoria like no other and make you nearly unkillable and zombie-like. Feeling little to no pain from injuries and are relatively unfazed by what would normally be fatal injuries. It makes you ignorant of the fact your body is literally dying as it burns through the gasoline of life, right down to its last embers. “
“That sounds like Danger Doping only far more intense. I’ll be sure to keep that in mind when using that power, especially in such extremities.” You interject. “The Triclops is quite a fascinating race to be able to do all of that. They must be on another level or a different variation of the Yardratians.”
“But what if I told you the Triclops weren’t the only ones to achieve a spiritual awakening and thus form a third eye? And I don’t just mean us Shinlings either.” Aeos chimed in, waggling her index finger. “There are countless others out there, but the ones most noticeable would be the earthlings of Plant Earth. Although only some actually sprout a physical alteration in the form of a third eye, most who achieve such a super awakening end up unlocking the inner/mind’s eye. Both forms are a prerequisite to achieving the Shingan as well as its true form, the Shin Shingan. Achieve that and all the secrets to life and Senjutsu will be within your grasp to acquire.”
Having said that, you would be left to ponder on Aeos's words as she led you through the chambers. Walking through countless hallways and traversing through many flights of stairs. The trip would only take a couple of minutes, ten to twenty at most. Yet the path made it seem like it would take an eternity to reach. So why was it that you only felt a sense of tranquility as you kept walking. Peace of mind with the associated presence of mind filled you from all sides. To you, it was no different than your daily meditations or monastic practices. You weren’t sure if it was from the temple or Aeos herself that was causing these vibes.
