I myself have ran a few quests and in many of them I have the protagonist already in a relationship before the quest takes place — and the players seem to take to it well.

You have multiple dicerolls vs DC for most challenges - you get more dicerolls if you are proficient in a certain topic, and the DC can be decreased if you have a satisfying write-in.
On occasion are dialogue boss battles; you need to convince someone of something, and depending on your reasoning, you can reduce the diceroll DC. Some offer guidelines while others are write-in only. It’s a neat way of challenging the players.
