>>5185780"Simple, he fought. Havent seen this guy get more than 3 hours of sleep during the day, he has to save his energy for the night shifts. Sometimes he dozes off, but I always have his back, right Guts?"
"Wrong."
You're no fun, you know that? No wonder Jill didn't come along!"
"Jill? That's the name of the girl on the village I went through. The only girl on that village..."
"Yeah, she was a real pal! Shame about her friend Rosine though. She wanted to set the world free of adults after seeing being neglected by her parents. She started transforming all the kids there into elves like me, only they grew a lot more violent on her command."
"Not all apostles start out as monsters... And once those died, they came back to their human form. I technically killed a lot of children on my way here, but it was either me or the world..." Guts admitted his actions were wrong, even if it was for a good cause. Not like people who don't believe in magic wouldn't understand.
"Jill wanted to come with me... But I know I cant take care of those who can't fend for themselves. Especially with this damn thing around my neck." Guts scratches the brand of sacrifice, cursing the God Hand for killing his friends, raping his lover, and not even letting him forget it for a single night.
"I'm not sure if I can kill any flying types, but I fought a pretty strong apostle before meeting you. I don't think you'll have to worry about protecting me all that much." You reassure Guts.
"Are you sure you want to stick with me? Come on, I'm a wanted criminal."
"So am I."
"I've killed several innocents, some of them just because they were in my way."
"Never really been one to align with paragons. Were you not paying attention to my story?."
"This is the one opportunity to clear your name in the eyes of the kingdom! Staying by my side means you will be condoning what I do as well. You wouldn't be here if you wanted to be a knight all those years ago."
"I don't want to be a royal knight no more. I just want them dead."
Guts stares you down as he feels the determination in your eyes, something about your viciousness in hunting the God Hand makes him relate to you in a way, sparking something in him to at least give you a chance.
"Wouldn't hurt to keep you company for a bit then. I don't think you have what it takes to fight all night long with me, but something tells me that you'll be useful down the line. Just make sure to leave Griffith to me."
>Griffith wronged me, but I have a bigger gripe with Conrad.>You make it sound like I don't want them all dead.>No promises, you might need my help fighting him when the time comes.>Write-in.
