>>5376193Your initial impulse is to hungrily shove the fleeting portion of divinity down your throat, to feed on it and increase your power. Shoving your clenched hand into your fanged maw, at the last moment though you are able to stop yourself. Wisdom comes a calling, as you realize that if the humans could create this source of power then perhaps they could create more? As a physical being it's not as beneficial to you, but it's also not totally useless either.
For now then, you regretfully draw your hand from your mouth and accept hunger for now in exchange for benefit later. One of the hardest choices for you to make traditionally, but since awakening from your slumber you've bothered to try and learn from your experiences, and in some ways it's working! With the false monster out of the way though, that was the easy part, now comes the real challenge... the priestess. If only you had Faysal here to help.
<span class="mu-b">"Erm... don't be afraid, I'm just-"</span>
<span class="mu-s">"-AAAIIIEEEE!"</span>
<span class="mu-b">"-no no! No, no... no, don't do that."</span>
In the least-threatening manner as you possibly can be, you cautiously and calmly try to approach the priestess through the water. Of course you are a huge sea monster that she just saw destroy her god, so she panics and tries to swim away screaming. Hastily you catch and hold her till she stops panicking, your mind racing for how to try and make something positive of this...
<span class="mu-b">"Listen, listen to me... you called for Tanaloa, daughter of Kili'ou'lokane, Smasher of Atlantis, though you forgot the half of it... here I am. You will no longer serve that parasite."</span>
<span class="mu-s">"-aaaah! Help me please, gods! Tanaloa save me!"</span> she continues to scream and panic and struggle in your grip the moment you free her mouth.
<span class="mu-b">"-listen I say! I won't hurt you if you hear me!"</span> in frustration you shake her till she settles down, or rather in order to stop being shook she tries to contain her panic, <span class="mu-b">"I.. am Tanaloa, daughter of the drowned... the true object of your faith. What you saw was an imposter, a falose idol that I disposed of."</span>
The one benefit here at least, is that being a priestess she knows the language of the sea. Otherwise it would still be far too early in your knowledge of her native language, to be able to communicate with her. She hears your words and can't do anything to stop you, but you can't just control her and force her to heed what you say or submit.
You can tell this is going to take time...
