>>5290954Seeing as these imps aren't in great terms with the Polkari and are already planning to leave. I choose to avoid wasting time and return to my trip towards Polkaria, dispelling my visual aversion magic.
It was quite a short trip. A bit of avoidance of Polkari military patrols here and there. But I have finally caught sight of a town of sorts in the distance.
Thinking ahead I use transmutation magic on my mask to turn it into a smooth wooden mask that looks fairly human. Removing the eye holes in the process. It isn't too much trouble as I carve in a simple one sided sight through the spell onto the inside of the mask. 'Enchantment will make this easier once i got materials to make the spell self sustaining'
After finishing up my short crafting session I started to realize some small mistakes in my plan. One, it's the middle of the night right now. Two, I look like a seven foot tall Narkitan visiting a town that mainly consists of people whose height tops out between four to five feet… the first problem can be essentially negated with my solution to the second problem… I just despise this spell so much.
Grabbing the tome from my robe I start flipping through its countless pages. Stopping on the section of transformative magic. 'Here we go. Cheap temporary size adjustment spells page five. Aaaand… There.' I tap upon my tome as I begin reciting the spell casting chants. Bones begin to creak and pop. A painfully stretchy noise emits from me as both body and equipment shrink down in size. 'I shouldn't feel any pain. But it still makes me feel utter discomfort as I do it.'
After finishing up the spell I checked myself out. Reduced down to four feet in height. Perfect.

Upon entering the town through the front entrance 'Who hires fools who accept the "Visiting family" lie so easily from someone who doesn't even look like a member of your race?!'. I find myself in slight awe at the sight of a Victorian era looking town with many steam powered contraptions driving down roads 'It feels like I've traveled back in time to around the nineteen hundreds…'. I travel around the town exploring. Ignoring some of the townsfolk looking at me like I'm a lost tourist 'which I essentially am'. Nothing has bothered me in my small bout of curious adventure. It is when I found a shop selling something of interest to me that I ran into trouble. Fireworks. But mainly the gunpowder they used inside i couldn't afford due to the realization i had no funds.
